![]() There are three different variants of the MindView platform. MatchWare has six worldwide offices spread across the US, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, and Denmark, each of which is available by phone and email. ![]() ![]() If you need technical support (even after checking out the MindView FAQ), you can submit a ticket. From there, you can look through MatchWare’s relevant advice. Most likely, the tool you want will pop up as well as a “Get Help” prompt. If you need help using MindView or are searching for a particular tool, the best thing you can do is go to the toolbar, locate the lightbulb icon and type in what you need help with. After you’ve finished creating, you can add citations or links, and then export to other software like Excel by navigating to the “File” menu again. This means you can find which is the best visual representation of your information. When you start exploring the templates, you’ll see that you can generate different map-types with the same information. Luckily, you can sign up for a seminar, read MatchWare’s published whitepapers, or watch tutorials embedded in the program to get a deeper understanding of what everything does. Right off the bat, you’ll see for yourself how extensive a feature set MindView offers, and may even feel a bit overwhelmed. Under “File → New”, you can browse a selection of templates and get started exploring the software. If you are familiar with the Microsoft suite, you will feel very at-home. Once you download the program, you’ll be directed to a screen with a very recognizable toolbar, designed to look a lot like other Microsoft Office (opens in new tab) programs such as Word, Excel, and Access. On the MatchWare website, you can either purchase the MindView product or start with a free 30-day trial. (Image credit: Mindmatch) Interface and In Use

Jing Fong does rice flour wrappers really well, at a lot of places these wrappers are gummy and chewy and yet somehow don’t hold the dumpling filling together. The flaked crab sitting on top of the filling didn’t add much flavor, but overall the flavor and texture of these dumplings said fresh and healthy. The same excellent shrimp that are in the How Gar went really well with the spinach in these dumplings. “We are actively and quickly searching for a new location in Chinatown and look forward to welcoming the community inside of our doors soon.Next I tried the Crab, Shrimp and Spinach Dumplings which are open pockets made with rice flour dough wrappers stuffed with spinach and shrimp and topped with flakes of crab meat. “This is not the end for us,” said Lam in a statement. While the neighborhood will lose its most iconic and largest dining room for now, much of the restaurant’s dim sum carts, tables, and even the golden phoenix mounted on a red wall will go into storage for a potential reopening in another location. It’s such an out-of-this-world experience.” That was a spot that I went to as a kid before Chinese school. “It’s really sad to see it go,” says Wilson Tang, owner of Nom Wah Tea Parlor, another Chinatown institution. Once the dining room goes dark, Jing Fong will only operate as a ghost kitchen. Andrew Cuomo announced today that restaurants can expand indoor dining to 35 percent beginning February 26, although it’s not clear whether the restaurant’s banquet hall setup will follow suit. It’s an atmosphere and volume game, otherwise it doesn’t work.”įor nostalgic New Yorkers, Jing Fong’s dining room will remain open until March 7, operating at 25 percent capacity per current state regulations. “Our restaurant is not set up to serve 200 seats a la carte,” says Lam. Large banquets and buyouts, which accounted for half of the pre-pandemic business, never returned. Even if those diners had returned, operating the Jing Fong dining room, with its dozens of dim sum carts being pushed around to various tables, was a losing proposition at 25 percent capacity. In October, the restaurant tried its hand at indoor dining, but reception was lukewarm: the tourists that made up the bulk of the pre-pandemic business had not yet returned to the city. “It’s an atmosphere and volume game, otherwise it doesn’t work,” said Lam. Socially distanced tables and barriers did not mesh with Jing Fong’s business model. Even if the restaurant could have expanded its patio, it would have taken an empty parking lot to bridge the gap in the number of seats lost from pre-pandemic times. Revenue returned with the addition of takeout and eventually outdoor dining, but the restaurant was never able to aggressively build out its patio seating like some other businesses around the city, perhaps in part because it is located directly across the street from the NYPD’s 5th Precinct station house. The dip in sales forced Jing Fong to shutter its dining room on March 10, a week earlier than mandated by New York State. ![]() ![]() At one point in mid-February 2020, Lam counted just 36 customers in a room that can legally hold 794. But even before any mandates to shut down indoor dining, the restaurant saw its daily check totals plummet, mainly a result of diminished tourism but also because of racism and xenophobia surrounding the coronavirus. ![]() Sales at Jing Fong are down 85 percent year-over-year, which translates to a loss of about $5 to 6 million, according to Lam. A satellite location on the Upper West Side, which opened in 2017, is unaffected by any of the changes. The iconic dim sum restaurant, which opened in 1978 but moved to its current location at 20 Elizabeth Street, between Canal and Bayard streets, in 1992, has worked out a deal with its landlord to use the kitchen rent-free on a month-to-month basis. “With our drastic decline in sales and mounting losses sustained over the course of a year, we needed to make the tough call to close our indoor dining space and redirect our resources in hopes to continue our operations,” the third-generation owner and manager Truman Lam said in a statement. Following a growing trend during the pandemic, the restaurant has plans to continue operating as a ghost kitchen to fulfill orders for takeout, delivery, and outdoor dining on its patio. Jing Fong, the largest Chinese restaurant in Manhattan, announced today that it would permanently close its dining room on March 7 due to business loss as a result of COVID-19. The one hundred students who passed the first phase of the exam are tasked with rescuing members of the Help Us Company who are trapped in the disaster zone.
![]() It's a toss-up, but worth considering both options if you're shopping for a new computer now. But you gain portability, since you can take your MacBook Air everywhere you go. You'll also miss out on the good built-in speakers, added ports and webcam. The catch is that a quality 4K display with the colors, brightness and accuracy of the iMac is going to set you back several hundred dollars or more. Then, you can add a big screen at your desk, like this $400 one from LG, or something more expensive like this from Dell, and just plug the Air in when you want a big, bright display. It will make a great home school computer for your kids, or an office desktop.īut I also think you should consider buying a MacBook Air, my current favorite computer on the market given its power, battery life and price. The new iMac is a fantastic desktop computer and worth buying if you need a desktop computer for you or the family. It doesn't bug me at all, but I think people who are used to big screens without much of a border might find it a turn-off. Lastly, it has a big chin under the screen. ![]() But you won't get three big screens over HDMI or Thunderbolt. I found I was able to get up to three screens by using an iPad Pro with the Side Car app, however. So if you're like me and normally use three separate displays, you're going to be limited. But the M1 chip only supports one additional monitor, the same as with the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. My guess is most people are going to use the iMac with just the built-in screen, since it's pretty big. Normally this works fine, but if you have a shorter desk or sit up higher on your chair, you might want to know you can't really adjust it to match your height unless you prop it up on some books. You can adjust the vertical angle by tilting it back or forward, but you can't raise or lower the display or turn it left to right. I also wish the display supported more angles. I know it's old technology, but there are still tons of chargers and accessories that use that type without an adapter, including the Apple Watch. It's kind of a bummer it doesn't have an older regular USB 2.0 port. (I'd like to see macOS on an iPad Pro, too.) I can dream. Imagine just walking up and tapping Netflix and tapping a TV show. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'd love to see an option in macOS that lets you flip to the iPadOS for when you want to use it like a touchscreen, and then switch back to regular macOS when you don't. But many are designed to be used with touch. A lot of the ones you might want, like Netflix and YouTube TV (or any of Google's apps for that matter) aren't there. Also, the iMac's M1 chip lets you run iPhone and iPad apps if they're supported by the developer. If you're flipping through recipes, for example, you might want to touch the screen instead of using a mouse. But I think a touchscreen would work well here. Apple has said Macs serve one purpose and iPads serve another. The thing that stands out to me most here is the lack of a touchscreen. But there are still a few things I think could be improved. It's a feature Apple introduced in the new iPad Pros this year, so maybe that will make its way over in future models.Īll of this comes together to form a really capable desktop computer for the price. But I'd love to see Apple add some of the smart tracking so that the camera could follow me around the room - if I'm pacing while talking to my editor over FaceTime. It did a good job keeping my image clear and bright, even if the room was a little dark. Apple's M1 chip offers better quality even compared with the 27-inch iMac it launched last summer, which uses the same camera hardware. Each family member just registers their fingerprints and then they can tap it to log in to their account when they jump on the computer.įinally, the camera quality is noticeably better. It's really convenient for making purchases (like you would on Apple's laptops), for logging in in a split second, or for sharing a computer. You should do that while buying the iMac. The new Magic Keyboard, which matches the color of the computer you buy (as does the mouse) can be configured with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor for $50 more. Hillenburg tried to get the comic professionally published, but none of the companies he sent it to were interested. The comic starred various anthropomorphic sea lifeforms, many of which would evolve into SpongeBob SquarePants characters. He created a precursor to SpongeBob SquarePants: a comic book titled The Intertidal Zone used by the institute to teach visiting students about the animal life of tide pools. Kidney failure may cause tingling in your feet. You may need to take vitamin supplements. A trip to the doctor can help determine if you have a vitamin deficiency. If you are deficient in vitamin B-12, you may experience fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, tingling in hands and feet, headache, chest pain, digestive issues, and nausea. If this does not help, go see your doctor to ensure it is not serious. To relieve tingling, try resting with your feet up, changing positions, and drink a lot of water. When the uterus grows, it puts pressure on the nerves in your legs, which can cause the tingling. It is managed with lifestyle changes and medication. During a check up, your medical history will be taken, along with a physical exam and blood tests to determine if your diabetes is causing your feet to tingle. Some symptoms of diabetes are extreme thirst, dry mouth, frequent urination, itchy skin, numbness in hands and feet, unexpected weight loss, slow healing of cuts or sores, yeast infections, drowsiness, vision changes, nausea and vomiting. If the tingling in your feet is persistent, you should see a podiatrist to diagnose the underlying cause.ĭiabetes is one cause for persistent tingling in the feet.
